I will throw in my experience with B2B here. Moses looked positively anorexic for the first 5 months we had him. He wasn't just thin, he was skinny... too skinny. He was eating 10-11 cups of Eagle a day, (which came highly recommended), and still he was not gaining weight. His stools looked okay, but at 30" he only weighed 68 pounds. Moses has been on B2B for 1 month now and he looks great! I've cut his food back to 9 cups a day and he still has put on weight. He was weighed two weeks ago, and at 31 1/2", he was 92 pounds. That is a great improvement! He looks great and I am Very happy with B2B.
I do want to say that I still think Eagle is a good food.
Most of Moses' littermates are still eating it and they look great. I do not think that there is one dog food for every dog, but I do think B2B is the best for MY dog. I hope you are able to find a good, permanent solution for your dog soon. *smile*

Good morning Lynnie,
I've been meaning to write for a long, long time to thank you for bring Back to Basics food to my attention last year on one of the lists. Raleigh has been eating it for about a year and is thriving on it. The order processing people are nice and the delivery is super duper -- I get a shipment in 2 days! I store it in the kitchen in a large plastic container with a screw on lid (resembles a giant aspirin bottle) and Raleigh and I have a hip-checking contest every time I open the container because she's trying to plunge her head in to grab some. You were very generous to share your research and personal experience to bring this food to our attention and I really appreciate it.
Leans and slobbery kisses,
Carol and Raleigh (is it lunchtime yet?)

Hi Lyn
I just wanted to say that I talked to you oh, maybe almost 2weeks ago ...I was interested in if you had ever fed eagle and why you switched to Back to Basics. I Had decided to try it myself for a couple reasons one of them was gas..my Danes always had gas and my male was a constant licker of his anal area .
I was feeding Eagle and had been pretty happy with it but it has been the only food I have fed and was curious about switching to Back to Basics to see if I noticed an improvement in the gas , the licking and maybe stool size..if i didn't I would stay with my Eagle. Well My dogs have been on it just shy of two weeks now...
1) they love the taste...
2) no gas almost immediately
3) I have noticed a decrease in my males licking.
4) and they actually do have decrease in stool volume.
5) No more runs!
I am amazed. I've made my decision to stay with the Back to Basics... I like the ingredients and the literature that came with it was very interesting and made a lot of sense. I basically wrote this letter to say "thanks" for just talking about this food in your e-mails and on your site.. .You always felt so strongly about this product that I finally just had to go to the website and read and eventually try the food.
I am so glad that I did.

I just received my first order of Back to Basics, and I am impressed!
Abby was captivated by the box from the minute it came through the door. It arrived just before dinner time, so I went ahead and opened it, and mixed it with their current (less than premium) kibble -- but no extra toppings (like yogurt or cottage cheese).
They sucked it down! And Jessie managed to pick out the BTB kibble and eat that, leaving the old stuff in her bowl. This is a special feat, when you consider that Jessie is an amoebae with fur. And Jessie, btw, is the reason for the switch -- over the past few months, she has gotten so gassy, especially at night, that the "fragrance" wakes me up!
Can't wait to see them in a few weeks after we complete the transition.

Lynnie,
Just thought I'd give you an update on how my girls at doing on BTB.
Jessie's gas problem -- so powerful and smelly that it would wake me up in the middle of the night -- is gone. Haven't really noticed any significant difference in Abby or Hannah, but they didn't have any noticeable problems before. And Abby's still getting half-and-half while I use up the old stuff.
They all love the stuff -- we first tried the chicken, and they gobble it down. I've got a bag of pork on order; it should be here in the next few days.
Thanks for the recommendation.
Hugs,
Jackie

I just wanted to give an update on my Back To Basics switch......My dogs have all been eating it for about 6 weeks now and......WOW what a total difference in the amount of   poop and the amount they eat! They only go potty 2 times a day its smaller too,and they eat a quarter of what they were.one 40 POUND BAG LASTS ME 3 YES 3 DAYS!!!!! Remember I am feeding 10 Danes here so that is one heck of a difference. They went from eating 3 possibly 4 times a day two 2 " free feeding " Not only am I sold I am going to recommend it to everyone else I know who has Danes! Once again thank you to all who helped me make the choice to try
it out!

Sherrie,
Other than my girl who I think is now allergic to corn too, my two pups are doing Great on it as well.  We are talking 7 & 8 month old pups who eat 3-4 cups a day of food.  When I hear the amounts others feed I could keel over.  For my three a 40# bag lasts about 10 days.  Great poops, nice coats, good energy. And it is so convenient for everybody except my UPS man........ :)

That reminds me, I promised a follow up!  We're at the end of our first bag (of B2B), and we're NEVER gonna switch!  The main reason I tried it was because Scooby's gas was enough to kill anyone in range.  He still passes a little gas when he's full, but now you just hear the puff of air, never a smell to it!!  And Scooby has stopped his snacking at bedtime and on our walks...he was a notorious cat poop eater!  I never realized it until Lynnie mentioned that most dogs will stop this on B2B, but when I thought about it, Scooby hasn't raided the cat box in several weeks!  And our walks are MUCH more pleasant now that he's not looking for snacks in the neighbors' yards!   =o)  Not too sure about the coats, as Scooby's is still maroon from my husband's sweatshirt that he sucks on (Scooby, not hubby!!), and Sherman's is still crusty from where Scooby uses it as a handle (someone should market Dane spit as a hairspray)!
Thanks so Much!
Jesika
