has been weighed in its raw state, weighing approximately five (5) times
its dried or meal state. Once processed into dog food, it could rank
as low as fourth or fifth by weight on the label. When

High Fat For Health- It's About Time!
Dogs need a high level of quality dietary
fat for physical performance, healthy skin, and assimilation of food.
High quality poultry fat, vegetable oil and fish oil each contain useful

are proud to be able to state that BACK TO BASICS contains only ingredients
which are of nutritional benefit to your dog.
Free of By-Products and Waste
Dead, diseased and dying animals that
arrive at the slaughterhouse unfit for human consumption may become "by-products"
that are used in pet food. This catch-all term can include rancid,
tumorous or cancer-riddled animal tissue.
Preservatives
Preservatives are required to prevent
spoilage. BACK TO BASICS uses only antioxidants (Vitamin E and C)
to preserve our fresh wholesome ingredients, providing a shelf life of
7 to 9 months in a cool, dry place. Tests have indicated that the
use of the preservatives BHA, BHT or ethoxiquin has adverse effects on
the kidney, liver, brain and reproductive organs. These chemicals
have also been associated with behavioral problems and allergic reactions.
Because our product is delivered fresh from the manufacturer, we have no
reason to use anything but natural preservatives.
Fillers
Fillers are often used to slow the process
of digestion through the intestine and colon, to result in a smaller, firmer
stool. This can be misleading and not necessarily healthy.
Stool volume is actually tested by weight rather than by firmness or overall
size. A healthy stool is not hard and often in the wild, less than
formed. The balanced, highly digestible, highly absorbable formulas

FEEDING INSTRUCTIONS
These amounts are approximate and will vary with the age, breed and activity level of each dog. An inactive dog should consume less than a very active dog. Puppies should be fed 3 times a day, adults 2 times a day for life. Please serve BACK TO BASICS moistened with water, this activates the digestive enzymes for maximum digestibility and we feel it is healthier way to feed any dry dog food. If switching from another food, feed the same amount that you have been serving to start. After about two weeks, your dog will be likely to decrease his intake voluntarily, thanks to BACK TO BASICS nutrient-dense, readily digestable formula.
