Loneliness

Loneliness

Try to place yourself in a pet bird's shoes, and it may then occur to you that some pet birds lead solitary lives. Loneliness can't be detected from the expression on their faces, but, nonetheless, it takes a toll internally.

Birds resemble humans in that they are social animals that live within a group of animals. Most of their activates in the wild are with members of their species. Being in captivity doesn't change their inherent need to have a social life.

Birds living a life of isolation do poorly.

Fortunately, pet birds can be brought into our society, and can be our companions.

Pet birds need people.
